40. Soft top replace
I tried to replace the soft top that I had been thinking for many years. While referring to the service manual, remove the soft top cloth from the back and replace the rear windshield assembly first... At this point, there are wrinkles around the rear window glass.
Remove the soft top that you have been using, put a new soft top cloth on roof, and temporarily fix it from the back side. The rubber of the band that pulls up the rear glass is stretched, so stuff it by hand sewing and reattach it.
I closed the hood while feeling anticipation and anxiety... There is tension on the whole, wrinkles around the rear window glass are eliminated, and the overall finish is good! I am very happy! ️
This work was very difficult, because there were many first-time things and processes that could not be redone. Therefore, the joy of completion was very great!!a
The rear window assembly is also taut and wrinkle-free.
The overlapping condition is also good.
The installation seems to have gone well.
The front end fitted perfectly.
Take a break and take a picture of the removed hood set.
I becoming used to working with cement.
Attach the front side of the soft top with cement.
Hook the end of the ring-shaped wire on the front claw.
Pass the wires through both sides using a wind instrument maintenance tool.
The band works hard.
Still hand sewing at this time.
The rubber of the belt for pulling up the rear window assembly was stretched, so I sewed it again.
There was a coil spring at the tip of the wire.
The inner part of the soft top is used as it is.
The other side... The frame structure of the soft top is well made.
Remove the wire and peel the soft top.
Wires are installed so that the outer circumference of both sides shrink.
Peel off the front side of the soft top.
Temporary installation of rear window assembly completed.
Removed the rear window assembly and check the mounting part.
Before the soft top, replace the rear window assembly.
Remove the soft top.
