1. Check the current car

Why did we decide to buy a car in the first place, when we already had three? The trigger was that my wife was in an accident where she was hit by a car on her bicycle. We thought we needed a car that was equipped with safety features because we were in a car ourselves and could hit someone else. The VW Bus and Honda City Cabriolet, which I own, are of course not equipped with safety equipment, and the Esse has airbags in front of the driver and front passenger, but none of the other safe driving support features. The ride was uncomfortable when driving long distances in the Esses, so we decided that we wanted a car with good safety support equipment and that could be driven comfortably over long distances.

The type of car was which of the Volvo cars, as I was thinking of a Volvo one day, to match the main house of the Swedish House. I liked the Amazon, 244, 240, 850, 960, early S70/V70, S90/V90, but lost interest in the later models. The current models with daylighted headlights in the form of a tall hammer seem too intrepid, and as a fan of physical switches, I don't think I'd be able to get used to the fact that the controls are concentrated in the centre display. Then the previous generation models, which I had not been aware of before, caught my attention and I started to like them.
