25. Daytime running light
The daytime running light function of the position lights was turned on up until the 2014 model, but for some reason the function was disabled after that. This may be due to the influence of the Road Traffic Act in Japan.
I searched for information online and found that a kit to restore the function was once sold, but it is no longer available. But I found a post that said that the lights would turn on just by supplying power to one of the wires that extend to the position lights!
I couldn't find the same type of coupler even after searching online, so when I bought the vehicle I said I didn't mind a second-hand one (even if the cable was broken) and asked for a set of male and female connectors, and received two sets during the 6-month inspection.
I continued checking, referring to the fuse section in the online manual, and found that blank number 22 was powered when the key was on, so I used the same type of fuse tap to connect the wiring, ran it half way around the engine bay, and connected it to the branch harness that I had previously connected in the interrupt, and I was done.
Full light comes on when the key is on, and dims when the position lights are on (ON), which worked just as I wanted.
Attach a crimp terminal to the red wire you brought up to this point and connect it to complete the connection.
I ran the wiring up the right front and then down the top behind the radiator to the bottom where the coupler is.
The wiring was run from one end of the fuse box through the back of the frame and cover to the other side so that it would not be visible from the outside. The left front was close, but something prevented me from seeing and also not reached my hand to the coupler.
Comparing the instruction manual with the actual product, I used a tester and found that blank, unused number 22 was powered with the key on, so I drew power from there.
Insert the coupler of the wiring branch harness you have prepared between the coupler that connects the vehicle and position light wiring.
Looking inside, you can see the wiring connector to the position ride at the bottom. The connector on the vehicle side is fixed.
I protected the edges of the headlights with masking tape before removing the headlights and removed it.
