Vehicles with the Polestar Performance software installed are equipped with a shift knob with the Polestar logo, but when I purchased the vehicle, it had numerous cracks and was in a disappointing condition. So when I took delivery of the vehicle, I had it replaced with a clean one without the logo, and tried to repair the knob panel with the logo that I had removed and stored.

Since it seemed impossible to separate the outer periphery and the transparent part using the shift pattern, I decided to protect the outer periphery with masking tape, fill the cracks, and polish it.

First, I tried BONDIC, which hardens in a short time when exposed to UV LED light, but the adhesive only hardened on the surface and it didn't work. Next, I tried ALTECO's liquid adhesive, but this also did not penetrate the cracks.

As I was sanding down the glued and hardened parts, I noticed that the shallow cracks on the surface had disappeared, so I changed my strategy to sanding down to the layers that were not affected by the cracks and continued polishing.

I sanded away even the deep cracks until they were no longer noticeable, then gradually increased the grit of the sandpaper, polished the surface with liquid compound, and finally painted it with a UV-blocking clear paint, using surface tension to create a beautiful finish.
