137. Power steering
At last, I installed a power steering system to my BUS! v(^o^)w
I bought it from LITE-STEER which selling a power steering system for old cars in England. → http://litesteer.com
I removed the original steering shaft and set the new one with power unit. And the upper part of the original steering column pipe was cut and used. The wiring was lowered from the front floor down, guided along the frame to the engine bay, and connected to the battery.
The steering control is very light !!
The motor for power assist is located in the lower front.
Even when viewed from the passenger seat side, the unit is hidden and refreshing!
Put a big fuse in it and wire it to the battery.
I drilled a hole for the engine compartment.
Through a hole in the subframe...
Extend the wiring from front to rear...
Fixed in several places with tie wraps.
Through the hole along the wiring that runs under the floor...
Since the other original wiring was passing from the front of the floor to the underfloor, I passed the wiring through the same place.

Fix the upper part of the steering column and the installation is completed.
The left and right are the original screw holes, and the top and bottom are two new holes.
View from under. I drilled 4 additional holes to fix the power steering column.
I wanted to replace the gearbox, but I couldn't remove it, so I left it as is.
You can see the steering gear box in the back. Add some oil.
Fix the controller unit to the base that fixes the steering column.
The ping pong table is wide and good as a work table.
Like this, I put it in the back of the parking lot and worked.
Cut off about 15 cm from the tip of the steering shaft collar and use it.
This is the removed steering shaft. I do not use it.
This is second hand steering gearbox for right hand drive.
Remove the fixing base of the steering shaft collar.
Remove the steering wheel.
This is the power steering unit. In the back is the steering gear box, which was obtained separately.
When I took it out of the cardboard, it was contained in a special styrofoam.
