106. Pininfarina Emblem

The cabriolet's side pillars originally had emblems from Pininfarina, the company that commissioned the soft-top roof, but one of them seems to have fallen somewhere. The original had silver letters on a black background, but I changed it from a black background to a white background, so it was no longer the same as the original, so I decided to try making a copy.

Photos & Making

The emblem is missing!

Take a photo, import it to your Mac, trace the logo, and convert it to outline data.

Cut out the logo from the mirror sticker sheet using a cutter plotter.

Cut the low-foam PVC board to match the size of the original emblem.

Round the corners of the board to shape it.

Paint it the same color as the body (NH82 Greek White).

Paste the logo sticker on the painted board.

Coat with clear paint.

Complete. I think if I make it by pasting the logo on the back of a transparent plastic board, it will look more like the genuine emblem.

Set it on the pillar! Is Good.
