102. Damper mount cap repair & custom
Inside the engine room, the damper mount cap was cracked, so I repaired it, reapplied the mirror seal sheet, and installed billet parts in the center. Previously, I had pasted a donut-shaped sticker on it, but it had expanded and contracted due to the heat, causing some wrinkles and coming off the surface, so as a countermeasure, this time I divided the arc into four parts.
I tried searching for the relevant part (damper mount cap: 52748-SA7-000) at a Honda dealer, but unfortunately it was out of stock.
Finish with semi-gloss paint and apply mirror sticker sheet.
To prepare the surface, repeat painting and sanding several times.
I degreased it and painted it with the matte black I had on hand.
Billet parts are bolted from the back.
Drill a hole in the center for the bolt to pass through.
Apply a soldering iron to the front side and melt the seam.
Joining completed. It should be strong enough.
Attach the cracked part with adhesive. Next, bend the stapler needle and place it on the joint, apply a soldering iron, and embed the needle while melting the joint.
I had one spare, but I noticed that one was a different shape. Were there two types with the same part number?
It must have cracked due to aging.
I think it looks unique and good.
It may not be obvious when you look at it from far like this.
